I graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I studied painting and drawing, and learned to cope with winter. Many years later, I started making mosaics, and have learned much about the art and craft from my friends and teachers in the Austin Mosaic Guild and in the Society of American Mosaic Artists.
My husband and I take pride in having reared three children, and we are both happiest when we are building stuff. He quite often helps me with my mosaic projects, especially the part about building shipping containers for them, or building shelves for my studio.
Here is my supervisor with her head on some glass shards I’m preparing for the kiln. I love how she is interacting with a mock-up kitty sculpture.
