The Gradual Unfolding of Time

“The Gradual Unfolding of Time”  is a glimpse of a forgotten subject- slow time.  As are all mosaics, this one was created by a slow and deliberate process, carefully choosing and placing each tessera to build up the meaning of the piece.  The shape hints at an old-fashioned clock face, and the dressmaker’s pins suggest prickles of impatience. 

The ceramic frame and folding ceramic inclusion were made by the artist’s mother, Roberta Mitchell.

This piece can be used as a companion piece to “Arugula”, as they are the same size and they contain similar materials.  It can easily be shipped in a custom-made carton, and the artist will be happy to hand-deliver it in the central Texas area, or any place she happens to be traveling.
