Frilly Food with Seeds

“Frilly Food with Seeds” is surely a stand-up comic in the culinary world. Its red-hot hues and fussy detail warrant amusement and a closer look.  Italian glass millefiori mingle with fused glass pieces hand-made by the artist.  There are chunks of Mexican smalti disguised as cheddar cheese.   All these are combined with mirror, glass tiles, and commercially-made beads, including a glass domino. (Someone must have been playing over lunch.)  The mortar in which all the glass and the fork are set is colored.

This plate hangs on the wall using a plate hanger, or it sits on a plate easel.
