Teenagers

I’ll tell you what I enjoy about the teenagers I know:

1) They are curious about life and don’t take much for granted.

2) They love to be helpful to those who need help.

3) They enjoy being in touch with lots of members of the community, rich and poor, smart and slow.

4) They can be awfully articulate about their struggles.

5) They like to include lots of different kinds of kids in their groups.

6) They enjoy challenges.

7) They are energetic.

8) They are friendly.

9) They recognize some of the larger problems in our society and do their part to make things better.

10) They are full of joy.

Well, it is in response to having just spent time last evening with some of the kids I know, so I had to make that known. Teenagers get such a bad rap, but I happen to enjoy them. Thanks for reading and responding! My posts are mostly stories that relate to the art I make, but this one wasn’t, not directly.

Teenagers are so full of possibilities and of the future. We owe it to them to help them develop a positive and caring and creative view of the world. And they be so entertaining and so maddening!
