Thinking Outside the Boxes
I got a ‘wild hair’ today and decided that, instead of hanging this piece, World-wide, INSIDE while it is waiting to go out to a show , I would display it OUTSIDE. That is the beauty of mosaic- it is fairly easy to make a mosaic that is both light-weight and weather-proof. My house is constructed like a series of stacked boxes. This hanging location is in a niche, so it is protected from all but the most virulent of hail storms.
The dynamism of light and shadows moving across the face of the mosaic when the wind is blowing adds an element of unpredictability which I enjoy.

The piece looks like it was made for that space…it’s truly lovely!!
I absolutely love this piece! I need to come by and see it in person!
Thanks to my friends, Iona and Greta, for visiting and commenting on this blog and for being positive about the art! Ya’ll do me a world of good! Blessings on you both.
Lynn
I placed your website link into my comments for this week and next Monday I will feature an image of your work and a link to your blog…I am so happy when I look at the beauty that you create.
Lynne,
I agree with Iona…this piece looks as though it is ‘home’ …will you keep it? And, I too, wish I could see it ‘in person’…all that texture is calling to me!
Tracey, it does look good with the current color of the house. I am planning on selling it, though. It is part of a series I seem to be doing now.
You know, I’d love to meet both you AND Iona sometime. The internet is sort of like old-fashioned pen pals to the thousandth power.
Likewise, Lynne! I love how you can get to know people from just anywhere in the world…if you’re ever down here – let me know, and we’ll make that happen! Likewise, if I’m ever in your neck of the woods, I’ll do the same – Iona, that goes for you too!!
