Still morning, but just barely

The title refers to the tortoise-and-hare fable in which the tortoise finishes the race with the hare, and even wins, just by keeping steadily on course, one foot in front of the other.  That is like the building of this mosaic.

Photo 2, in the afternoon

If you have been looking at the very orange photos on this blog from time to time, you will see that I am recording, bit-by-bit, the construction of a rather large wall mosaic.  I focus intently on mosaic-making for 7 to 9 hours per day, and the mosaic slowly unfolds.

Later afternoon

I did take off a couple of days last week to leave town, but I’m back on duty this week.

In addition to this private commission I am making, you can see the large community-built church mosaic I have designed and am supervising on the blog, “New Life from Shards“.

I keep company with the likes of “Snap Judgement”, “This American Life”, and “Medieval Archives”, to name a few podcasts, in my studio.
