Just for fun, I thought I’d show you a series of photos I took while making my latest small mosaic portrait.  You can see the forward steps and the backward steps in the process.  Sometimes I chiseled tiles off the board and substituted others.  While I was making the mosaic, I was looking at some sketches I’d made, and also a photo of the person.   I find that, if I make photos of my work-in-progress and study the photos, I am much more objective in my judgments than I am if I am looking at the actual work.  Therefore, I make lots of photos.
