The Good Earth
This mosaic shares its title with a novel by Pearl S. Buck. In the novel, the farm fields are themselves one of the living characters. Likewise, I am thinking here of the earth as an organism. Served up on a plate, it could be a course to savor and appreciate, or one to devour on the way back for more.

I like the whimsical nature of this piece. Is there a giant at the top of the bean stalk who is big enough to eat both Jack and the field at the same time?
It is interesting that there are two different scales at work at the same time, the scale of a field and the scale of a dinner plate.
