The is the first day of my new blog, From the Top of the Cliff. Since I’m an artist, I wanted to start with a zippy image for you. This one is of a 12″ x 12″ mosaic I made earlier this year for the 2009 “100%” fundraiser for the George Washington Carver Library and Museum in Austin. I am proud to say that a friend and avid supporter of the museum bid right up to the last minute to buy this work. To make this free-spirited mosaic, I used vitreous tile, mirror, glass blobs, glazed ceramic shapes, millefiori (1000-flowers!), and Italian smalti along with the footprints I modeled from Fimo clay.

Very entergetic; grwat sense of movement; especially with the dancing feet.
