19 Mosaic Artists at 18 Hands Gallery
The annual Society of American Mosaic Artists conference starts in Houston, Texas in just a week and a half. Mosaico, the Houston mosaic artists’ group, didn’t miss the chance to create a juried show of all-Texas mosaics hosted by 18 Hands Gallery in the Heights district. The show was mounted and open on April 17, and the opening party is next Saturday night, April 26, from 6-9. The show is open through Sunday, May 4. Please come by if you are in the Houston area to see what Texas mosaic artists are up to.
Five of my mosaic plates are in the show, and frankly, I wouldn’t mind if someone purchased them this week, even before the opening party. They need good homes with people who appreciate the off-beat and humorous. Since they ARE plates loaded with color and texture, people who care about food will find them especially appealing.
Jann Alexander, Austin photographic artist, creative consultant, and wonderful blogger, was kind enough to write a post about my plates and the 18 Hands mosaic show- you can see her blog here. Isn’t she a terrific writer?
